Review: Collette Dinnigan, Paris Fashion Week

Today I was thrilled to attend Australian Designer Collette Dinnigan's runway show for Paris Fashion Week. Last season, Collette Dinnigan’s lady was a seductress, dressed to kill in leather and lace. Opening to a smashing soundtrack of Arctic Monkeys Do I wanna Know?, her Spring/Summer 14 lady was more cheeky ingĂ©nue than vamp. The lace was still there, but this time in the form of crisp, white separates. My favourites? The white shorts teemed with a sheer lace or flower embellished red tee. Colour featured heavily this season too, with pops of cobalt, turquoise and red cut into ladylike knee lengths dresses. While the lengths were demure, the cutaways, low backs and peekaboo lace bras hinted the Dinnigan lady hasn’t lost her sex appeal. For a designer renowned for her bridal wear, the floor length gowns were no surprise. Caped, beaded, printed and layered, there was a design for any occasion.

My standout piece was the final dress, a dreamy Grecian floor length gown in black and white print. Just the right amount of edge and femininity to take you from afternoon wedding to harbor side cocktails.
